A magical place nestled above the sacred Ayung River Gorge, Green Village is a master-planned community of spectacular, luxurious bamboo homes. It is an innovative expression of the increasing global “green” ideology, utilizing bamboo—one of the world’s fastest-growing, sustainable building materials—in ways never seen before. Pre-treated with a natural boron solution, bamboo becomes a viable building material impervious to insect infestation.
No two structures are the same. They are built onto the natural topography of the site incorporating a point-foundation method that minimizes land disturbance, and retains existing contours. Each house takes full advantage of its site-specific characteristics including air-flow, view corridors, and exposure to the sun.
The beauty, flexibility and strength of bamboo have been recognized for centuries, not only as a construction material but also in applications as diverse as furniture and decorative objects. The architects and designers of Green Village have maximized the potential of this attractive natural material to create a truly unique community.
